Spivey Elected to Serve on NCSHA Board

Tommy Walman to Serve as Mississippi Home Corporation Board Member

 

Jackson, MS— Thomas Walman was appointed by Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves to the Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) Board of Directors in December of 2016.

“We are proud to announce Tommy’s appointment as Mississippi Home Corporation’s newest Board Member. His 40 years’ experience in government and housing will be a valuable asset to the Corporation” MHC Executive Director Scott Spivey.

Following his term as Mayor of the City of McComb from 2002-2006, and in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Tommy served as Housing Policy Advisor for Former Governor Haley Barbour and then as Community Revitalization Director with the Mississippi Development Authority. He also served on Mississippi Home Corporation’s Oversight Committee.

Graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1969, Tommy joined the FBI and served in the law enforcement agency in Colorado Gary, Indiana. Tommy returned to McComb in 1972 to practice law and to begin his career in government. Elected to the Mississippi Legislature in 1976, Tommy served four terms in the House of Representatives.

Mississippi Home Corporation is the State’s Housing Finance Agency. MHC administers the Smart Solution program, the Mortgage Revenue Bond program, the Housing Tax Credit program, and the anticipated Blight Elimination program, among many others.
