To housing professionals, customers, and partners:
As the heightened concern continues for COVID-19, I would like to assure you that Mississippi Home Corporation is taking necessary steps to ensure that our housing professionals, customers, and partners needs are met during this time. Though many of our employees are working remotely and in shifts, the important work of MHC is getting done. Our staff stands ready and able to assist through phone and email engagement and we will continue to accept deliveries and payments during the scheduled hours.
MHC will continue to navigate the evolving impact COVID-19 will have on our communities. We are working at both the state and national levels on advocacy issues relating to housing on the mortgage and rental sides with the knowledge that the shutdown of the Casino and Gaming industry, as well as the Hospitality industry, will hit our renters particularly hard.
With this being said, we will be reopening our Hardest Hit Fund (HHF) to provide short-term mortgage assistance to those who have been severely affected by the pandemic. This will allow MHC to allocate funds to administer monthly payment assistance. We will post on our website once the application portal is open.
Though we are in uncertain times, what remains constant is our commitment to enhance Mississippi’s long-term economic viability by financing safe, decent, affordable housing and helping working families build wealth. Our team takes this mission very seriously and we will maintain dependable access to the services provided through our organization as this situation develops.
Sincerely,
Scott Spivey
Executive Director
