Notice of Funding Availability under the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program
Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) is soliciting proposals from non-profit organizations for funding of activities under the federal grant program, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). HOPWA Program funds are granted: 1) by formula allocations to eligible States and qualifying cities, as defined in 24 CFR 574.3; and 2) by a competitive selection of projects proposed by State and local governments and nonprofit organizations. Mississippi Home Corporation, as the responsible entity for the state of Mississippi, will award its allocation of HOPWA funds to eligible organizations that satisfactorily provide evidence of the ability to administer funds in accordance with local and federal guidelines.
Applying for Funding
- HOPWA applicants can only submit one application.
- Eligible applicant organizations for HOPWA must meet certain eligibility requirements. Eligible organizations are private nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status as defined by program regulation found 24 CFR Part 574.
- Interested organizations must provide proof of financial viability. While this is an open solicitation, preference will be given to projects that exhibit a collaborative effort among different service providers.
