Notice of Funds Availability

Mississippi Home Corporation announces a Notice of Funds Availability for the following programs: Home Investment Partnerships (HOME); National Housing Trust Fund (HTF); Emergency Solutions Grant. (ESG), and Housing Opportunities For Persons With AIDS (HOPWA).
MHC expects to allocate approximately $9,227,513 in HOME Funds, and $2,700,000 under HTF. HOME can be used for construction or preservation of rental housing, rehabilitation of owner-occupied units, and construction of owner or rental units sponsored by nonprofit Community Housing Development Organizations. HTF can be used to construct or preserve rental housing.
HOME and HTF are intended to leverage other affordable housing funds to maximize the impact of these programs for the development of affordable housing. For-Profit and Non-Profit applicants with experience in developing and preserving affordable housing for extremely low and low-income individuals are eligible to apply.
The State expects to award approximately $2,280,468 in Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds. Funds may be used for emergency shelter, street outreach, rapid re-housing, homelessness prevention, and Homeless Management Information System expense. Eligible applicants are private non-profit organizations with demonstrated experience and capacity, or a unit of general-purpose local government.
MHC expects to allocate approximately $1,621,373 in funds under the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program. Funds can be used for housing assistance, supportive services, and development of housing units. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations with demonstrated experience and capacity. Low-income persons at or below 80% of area median income (AMI) that are medically diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and their families are eligible to receive HOPWA-funded assistance.
FEDERAL PROGRAMS APPLICATION TIMELINE 2020
Applications for federal programs must be received in the office at 735 Riverside Drive on or before 5:00 p.m. on the closing date of the application submission period. Late applications will not be reviewed. The list of applicants awarded funds will be published on MHC’s website and all applicants will be notified by letter.
